Bungie’s 30th-anniversary celebration is live and, as fans guessed, Halo-themed items are coming to Destiny 2 including weapons based on Halo weapons like the Battle Rifle and Energy Sword.
When Bungie announced its 30th-anniversary celebration, the company revealed it will be celebrating all of its past with items inspired by classic Bungie games like Marathon. But the biggest Bungie series of them all, Halo, was not mentioned. Still, fans expected Bungie would honor this part of the company’s history, and today the company has.
The Halo weapons and cosmetics in Destiny 2 have different names. For example, the magnum is called Forerunner Exotic Sidearm or the BxR-55 Battler in the case of the Battle Rifle. These 7 weapons are available for free to anyone playing Destiny 2.
In a new trailer celebrating the anniversary, there are other Halo-inspired items on display. One such item is a Sparrow designed to resemble a Covenant Ghost. Plus a Ghost shell with a Halo ring around it.
The Halo-themed items join other Bungie cosmetics including a Claymore sword from Myth and a shotgun from Marathon. The 30th Anniversary event will also include a new dungeon, activity, and another chance at unlocking the famed Gjallarhorn rocket launcher.
While the Halo-themed items are free for everyone, the Gjallarhorn and other new exotics are only available to Destiny 2 players who purchase the 30th Anniversary Pack. The Pack is sold separately or as part of a bundle with the upcoming Witch Queen expansion.
