Chris Jericho’s contributions as a pro wrestler need no introduction. He has competed in various promotions all around the globe for three decades. Jericho is also proud to be working in AEW and isn’t afraid to show it. As Jericho is a veteran in the business, he doesn’t really have much care about what his haters have to say.
There is no doubt that Chris Jericho helped carry AEW during its first year, as he was the first AEW World Champion and helped garner viewers for their shows. He has helped put over several talents such as Orange Cassidy and MJF as well, among others.
While speaking with Newsweek, Chris Jericho talked about when he plans on hanging up his pro wrestling boots for good. Jericho made it clear that there is no reason for him to stop wrestling as long as he is still having fun.
“I think part of the reason I’ve had such longevity is that I go with the flow and I follow my heart. Did I ever expect to be 31 years on the job? I can’t say that I did, but I can’t say that I didn’t.
When people ask ‘how long are you going to do this,’ I say ‘I don’t know. When I feel like I don’t want to do it anymore.’ I don’t feel that way right now.
There’s really no reason to stop for me because it’s fun for me to work with this whole new generation of stars that are growing into their own and helping them,” Jericho continued. “I think when you kind of live in the now it makes things a lot better, a lot more important and a lot more special in what you are doing. I think we’ve done a great job with that and we’ve really only just begun in a lot of ways.
If I didn’t enjoy it and I didn’t have fun with it, I wouldn’t f**king do it.”
Chris Jericho also recently stated that he doesn’t have to worry about being absent from AEW television anymore. As reported earlier, Chris Jericho is currently absent from AEW television as he is currently on tour with Fozzy in the United Kingdom, so it remains to be seen when he will return.
