Sonya Deville Wants WrestleMania Singles Match Against Becky Lynch

By | December 16, 2021

Sonya Deville transitioned into the role of an on-screen authority figure alongside Adam Pearce on SmackDown. That doesn’t mean the 28-year-old plans on leaving in-ring competition out of the picture. In fact, she has her eye on a big WrestleMania match.

Deville already has several opponents in mind for a singles match – including on the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania. Deville has only wrestled one match since suffering a loss at SummerSlam 2020, but she’s not done yet.

“I’ve yet to have my singles match at WrestleMania and that’s obviously a goal of mine in the near future,” she told talkSport during a recent interview. She continued, “There’s so many scenarios that I would love.”

Then Deville opened up about how she is looking to take on The Man herself.

“I’ve always said that I would love to face Becky Lynch because I just think the dichotomy of her character and my character would be so cool. There would be a lot of large energy in the room and I think that would be a really cool matchup.”

Apart from Lynch, Deville sees another worthy opponent in Asuka due to their great chemistry in the ring. The NXT alumna also believes she could tell a great story with Sasha Banks.
