Will Ospreay Doesn’t Want To Walk Through The Forbidden Door

By | January 5, 2022

Will Ospreay went against Kazuchika Okada for the latter’s IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Night 2 of Wrestle Kingdom 16. The two put on a wrestle clinic but Ospreay failed to capture the title he never lost in the first place.

Following his stellar performance against The Rainmaker, the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion revealed his intentions about staying in NJPW and not crossing the proverbial Forbidden Door.

“I will not be walking through no Forbidden Door,” Ospreay said during his post-match presser. “I think that doors firmly closed for me,” added the New Japan Cup 2021 winner.

“I’m not signing my life away to someone else to get fired 8 months down the line. I ain’t going anywhere. I’m back in NJPW, I’m staying here until I main event another Tokyo Dome.”

Ospreay had previously stated he was open to appear in AEW and that it interested him, but his number one priority would be NJPW. The former NEVER Openweight Champion had also namedropped AEW star Kenny Omega as his potential opponent.
