The Carabao Cup final is edging ever closer, with the first domestic silverware of the English season set to be given out.
Manchester City have won the competition in each of the last four seasons, but there will finally be a different winner this time around.
This year’s final will see Chelsea take on Liverpool. The Blues have already won one trophy this campaign having prevailed in the Club World Cup.

When is the Carabao Cup final?
The Carabao Cup final will take place on Sunday, February 27 and will kick off at 11.30 a.m. ET (4.30 p.m. local time).
In the United States, the game is set to be shown live on ESPN and it will be available to stream online via ESPN +.
In Canada, the game will be streamed on DAZN.

In the semi-finals, the Reds were frustrated, held to a goalless draw by 10-man Arsenal in the first leg of the semi-final after the Gunners had Granit Xhaka sent off. However, Jurgen Klopp’s side showed their quality in the second leg with a 2-0 win.

The Blues needed penalties to beat Aston Villa and Southampton and then managed to get the better of Brentford. In the semi-finals, Thomas Tuchel’s side beat Tottenham with a 2-0 aggregate victory.

They won the competition in 1980-81, 1981-82, 1982-83, 1983-84, 1994-95, 2000-01, 2002-03 and 2011-12.

Chelsea have won the Carabao Cup five times, most recently in 2015.
The Blues were victorious in the competition in 1964-65, 1997-98, 2004-05, 2006-07 and 2014-15.
Liverpool vs. Chelsea in 2021-22
Liverpool and Chelsea have faced each other twice so far this season, with both meetings coming in the Premier League.
The games haven’t provided many clues regarding who will come out on top in the final as they have both ended in a draw.
In the first game at Anfield in August, Kai Havertz put Chelsea ahead before Mohamed Salah equalised for Liverpool from the penalty spot after Reece James had been sent off.
