WWE Changed Up Plan For Cody Rhodes On RAW After WrestleMania

By | April 10, 2022

WWE brought back Cody Rhodes and fans couldn’t wait to see what the American Nightmare had to say on RAW. They didn’t have to wait long, because the Grandson of a Plumber opened up the show. That was not the original plan.

Fightful Select reports that Cody Rhodes was originally scripted to close out the RAW after WrestleMania 38. Plans were changed about an hour before the show started to open up with Cody’s big promo instead.

On Monday, the Cody Rhodes segment was scripted to go on last, even appearing internally as such until about a little after 7 PM EST. We weren’t told a reason the Cody and Reigns segments were flipped.

As Ringside News reported, Cody’s promo was 100% scripted despite him claiming that he worked without a script. That script was actually approved by Vince McMahon on Friday, one day prior to Cody Rhodes’ official WrestleMania return.
