Steel Cage Match & More Announced For WWE SmackDown Next Week

Tonight’s SmackDown emanated from MVP Arena in Albany, New York. Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn wrestled in a lumberjack match to cap off the April 22nd episode of the blue brand.

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and her WrestleMania Backlash challenger opened tonight’s SmackDown with a contract signing ceremony.

The segment ended with Rousey signing the contract while holding Drew Gulak in an armbar. Charlotte and Rousey will take part in a “Beat the Clock I Quit Challenge” next week on SmackDown.

Jinder Mahal and Shanky confronted Ricochet for a shot at his WWE Intercontinental Championship. WWE announced that Ricochet will defend his title against Shanky next week on SmackDown.

The main event ended with Sami Zayn running into the crowd to avoid a beatdown at the hands of McIntyre. WWE official Adam Pearce booked the two in a Steel Cage match for SmackDown next week.
