Half time: Real Madrid 0-0 Manchester City (City lead 4-3 on aggregate): City have manage to navigate their way through the first 45 minutes and remain in front on aggregate with a 4-3 lead. Pep Guardiola’s side have looked assured in possession and have managed to cope well with the threat of Real so far but can they do the same in the second half?

44 mins: City look to counter but Mahrez’s pass towards De Bruyne lacks conviction. Real then push forward, with Mendy crossing towards Casemiro, who can’t make a significant connection with the ball.

42 mins: Benzema bears down on goal and shoots off target, with the flag going up again for offside. Can City get through to half time with their aggregate lead intact?

Kick off: The game is underway at The Bernabeu. Who will prevail?

The teams are in the tunnel, with kick-off rapidly approaching.

15 minutes from kickoff: City boss Pep Guardiola said that it will be an ‘open game’. He also admits that is a ‘risk’ playing Kyle Walker on his return from injury.

30 minutes from kickoff: Karim Benzema has scored 14 goals in the Champions League this season and keeping him quiet will be a considerably difficult task for City. The French forward’s clever movement makes it very hard to mark him.

1 hour from kickoff: Although City have a one-goal lead to predict, it is difficult to imagine Pep Guardiola setting his team up with an entirely defensive mindset. Perhaps they may not be quite as cavalier as usual, but they are still expected to pose a significant attacking threat.

Manchester City team: Kyle Walker starts for City as he returns from injury. Riyad Mahrez is also involved from the outset, with Raheem Sterling named among the substitutes.

Real Madrid team: David Alaba, who is available again after injury, is on the bench for Real. It looks as though Federico Valverde will be deployed out wide.

90 minutes from kickoff: The first leg in Manchester was hugely entertaining and it is hoped that tonight’s clash will also be of a very high standard. In the first game Kevin De Bruyne put City ahead after just two minutes, with Gabriel Jesus then making it 2-0. Karim Benzema then scored for Real before Phil Foden made it 3-1 to City. Vinicius Junior pulled a goal back with an impressive strike but Bernardo Silva then netted for City before Benzema scored a late penalty.

2 hours from kickoff: Manchester City are looking to reach the Champions League final for the second season in succession, but Pep Guardiola’s side will be fully aware that they still have much work to do if they are to overcome a Real Madrid side packed with talent but also determination.
