AEW Blasted For Focusing On ‘Dream Matches’ Instead Of Stories

By | June 8, 2022

AEW strives to be an alternative to the product that WWE has been putting out over decades. AEW has improved leaps and bounds in key aspects, but not everything is as well as it should be. Eric Bischoff also criticised AEW yet again.

AEW has been praised for its consistency in storytelling when it comes to their major feuds. However, the same cannot be said for the rest of their storylines.

While speaking on his Strictly Business podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Eric Bischoff blasted AEW for their lack of proper Storytelling.

I think with AEW, it’s more of a cultural thing where the decision is being made that it’s all about the quality of the matches and the dream matches and the story has become secondary. That’s being kind for the most part and I’m talking about a traditional beginning, middle, and end story with a great arc that takes the viewer on a journey and makes you emotionally invested. That element is mostly gone in for the most part and it’s more about the exhibition for the sake of the exhibition.”

Some fans might agree with what Bischoff said. AEW has a lot of things planned for the future and fans are excited to see what the company comes up with next. Still, some are more entertained by Tony Khan’s antics than they are the storylines he puts on television.
