When there is bad blood in boxing, emotions are expected to be let out in the ring pre and post-fight. That is exactly what happened when Caleb Plant knocked out Anthony Dirrell on the undercard of Deontay Wilder vs. Robert Helenius in Brooklyn.
Following the bout, Plant’s victory pose involved him shoveling dirt onto Dirrell, indicating he was burying him. MMA fans will feel a sense of deja vu, as Tito Ortiz did this to several of his opponents throughout his career. Plant saw this as an end the rivalry, something harmless. Others were not fans of Plant’s actions.

On this episode of Fightin’ Words, The Sporting News’ Andreas Hale explains why a little post-fight celebration never hurt anybody (to a certain degree).
