No. 6 Alabama and No. 10 LSU both face a must-win game on Saturday, with the Crimson Tide traveling to take on the Tigers in Baton Rouge.
Apart from bragging rights, the SEC West is on the line: Saturday’s winner will take a commanding lead in the divisional race with just four games remaining in the season. Should Alabama win, it likely needs only to beat No. 11 Ole Miss in Week 11 to earn a ticket to the SEC championship game.
Likewise, LSU — which has already beaten the Rebels — would have the outright lead in the division if it beat Nick Saban and Co. So, no pressure for Brian Kelly and Co. The Tigers have not beaten Alabama since the 2019 College Football Playoff national championship season, and haven’t won in Tiger Stadium since 2010.
Will Saturday’s game become a quarterback duel between Alabama’s Bryce Young and LSU’s Jayden Daniels? Or will the game, as it has often been in the past, revert to a more defensive-driven game? Only time will tell.
