Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for PS4 and PS5 is the first game featured for January 2023’s PlayStation Plus games, and it comes at a perfect time to get fans ready for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s release date of March 17, 2023.
Fans who have yet to play this Star Wars adventure will be able to learn the beginnings of Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis’ story before the sequel picks up five years later.
In our Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order review, we said, “a strong cast sells a dark story while keeping things fun and loyal to Star Wars lore, and fast, challenging combat mixes with energetic platforming, decent puzzles, and diverse locations to explore for an all-around amazing game.”
Next up is PS4’s Fallout 76, the online prequel to the Fallout franchise that allows players from around the world to work together, or not, to survive the aftermath of a nuclear apocalypse.
When Fallout 76 was first released in 2018, it had a bit of a rough launch. However, Bethesda has continued to support it and is continuing to provide players with new content and updates.
In our Fallout 76: Wastelanders review in 2020, we said, “the Wastelanders update at least solidifies Fallout 76 as something that’s worth recommending to series fans who are interested in multiplayer. The new storyline is great, but not as easy to play with friends as it should be.”
Axiom Verge 2 for PS4 and PS5 is the last game for January and it’s the follow-up to the retro-style 2D action game that pays homage to games like Metroid while also forging its own unique identity.
In our Axiom Verge 2 review, we said that it is “a dual-dimensional Metroidvania that’s engaging to explore despite its one-dimensional combat and underwhelming boss fights.”
As players wait for these games to arrive, we want to remind everyone that they still have until Monday, January 2 to download December 2022’s PlayStation Plus Games – Divine Knockout: Founder’s Edition, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, and Biomutant.
