3:10 p.m.: While there were reports of a potential deal for both Brock Boeser and J.T. Miller, no deals came to fruition and the two remain in Vancouver.

3:09 p.m.: Joel Edmundson remains a Canadien. The defenseman has been hurt but was a potential trade chip. Instead, he stays in Montreal.

3:02 p.m.: In a stunning move, James van Riemsdyk was NOT traded before the deadline.  He’ll remain with the Flyers for the rest of this season.

3:01 p.m.: The Kings are trading Austin Wagner to the Blackhawks for future considerations.

3:01 p.m.: The Sabres are sending Rasmus Asplund to the Predators in another deal that came in right at the deadline. The return is a 2025 7th-round pick.

2:59 p.m.: The Flyers get a deal in right before the deadline, sending forward Patrick Brown to the Senators for a 2023 6th-round pick.

2:56 p.m.: The Flames are getting Troy Stetcher from the Coyotes. One of the very few moves made by Flames GM Brad Treliving at the deadline.

2:52 p.m.: The return in the Wild’s trade for Sundqvist is a 2023 4th-round pick to the Red Wings.

2:48 p.m.: Oh boy, drama in the final minutes before the deadline. Just minutes after it was reported James van Riemsdyk would be going to the Red Wings, it is now being reported that he won’t be traded to Detroit.

2:44 p.m.: A deal for JVR is in the works, but the Red Wings have to move another player first before getting the deal done with the Flyers.

2:20 p.m.: The Red Wings have reportedly joined in on the JVR sweepstakes. That’s now four teams reportedly still in on the Flyers winger.

2:15 p.m.: The Sabres are adding at the deadline. Buffalo is trading two draft picks for Minnesota forward Jordan Greenway. The big winger has two years left on his deal, with a $3 million cap hit per year.

1:55 p.m.: A bit of a complicated deal, but the details of the Bonino trade have been revealed. The most important part β€” Bonino returns to Pittsburgh where he helped the team wins the Stanley Cup in 2016 and 2017. Not the player he once was, but a good addition to the bottom six.

1:40 p.m.: The Canadiens are the third team involved in the Bonino deal between the Penguins and Sharks. Montreal gets a 5th for taking on salary. A trade call should be coming soon to make it official after the deal was reported early this morning.

1:35 p.m.: James van Riemsdyk remains a popular name. He comes with a high cap hit, so retention is likely necessary. But he’s one of the few quality rentals remaining out of the forwards. The Jets and the Wild are out, but Golden Knights, Avalanche and Kraken are still in.

1:13 p.m.: There’s interest in Panthers forward Sam Reinhart, who has two years left on his deal. Despite the Panthers being in the playoff race, it does seem like they are trending toward sellers.

1:10 p.m.: The Penguins are reportedly in the process of working out a trade with the Ducks for defenseman Dmitry Kulikov. He’d be simply a depth option for their back end. Brock McGinn and a 3rd are reportedly going back the other way.

1:03 p.m.: The Canadiens and Kings make a deal for AHLers. Frederic Allard is headed to Montreal and Nate Schnarr is going to L.A.

12:39 p.m.: Panthers defenseman Radko Gugas could be on the move. He’s a UFA that can add grit and physicality to a contender’s blue line.

12:35 p.m.: James van Riemsdyk remains one of the top options available. The Golden Knights are still interested but have to make the money work. However, the Jets have reportedly told the Flyers they are out on JVR.

12:24 p.m.: Vladislav Namestnikov, who the Sharks acquired in a trade with the Lightning for Michael Eyssimont, is getting flipped to the Jets. The Sharks get a 2025 4th-round pick in the deal.

11:59 a.m.: The Flyers and Kings swap fourth-liners, as the Flyers acquire Brendan Lemieux and a 2024 5th-round pick for Zach MacEwen.

11:47 a.m.: The Devils are adding to its bottom six, acquiring Curtis Lazar from the Canucks. In 45 games with Vancouver, Lazar had three goals and two assists, playing a fourth-line role. The return to the Canucks is a 2024 4th-round pick.

11:36 a.m.: The Kraken are also looking at Klingberg, but are also aiming to find a trade suitor for defensemen Will Borgen and Carson Soucy. Seattle may end up being both a buyer and seller at the deadline. GM Ron Francis hasn’t been overly active yet.

11:34 a.m.: The Lightning are one of the teams checking in on defenseman John Klingberg. The Ducks blue liner, who signed a one-year deal this offseason, was expected to get a solid return at the deadline, but a poor year has plummeted his value.

11:20 a.m.: The Rangers are likely done at the deadline. The team acquired Patrick Kane, Vladimir Tarasenko, Niko Mikkola and Tyler Motte, and their remaining cap space is almost non-existent.

11:13 a.m.: It’s quiet on the rumors front, but there are still conversations happening behind the scenes. Players of interest include Alex Turcotte, Conor Sheary and a plethora of Ducks, including Dmitry Kulikov, John Klingberg, Derek Grant and Adam Henrique.

11 a.m.: The Bruins already made a number of moves, bringing in Dmitry Orlov, Tyler Bertuzzi and Garnet Hathaway, but could they make another deal? Injuries to Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno may mean another trade is made out of Boston.

10:16 a.m.: One of the biggest names left on the big board, James van Riemsdyk, is getting plenty of interest from teams. The asking price is reportedly a third-round pick.

9:54 a.m.: It looks like the Oilers might be done adding. The team previously acquired defenseman Mattias Ekholm from the Predators and forward Nick Bjugstad from the Coyotes.

9:30 a.m.: The Capitals are reportedly going to keep Trevor van Riemsdyk. There have been conversations between the two sides about a potential extension for the pending UFA.

9:20 a.m.: Here is the return on Bonino trade to the Penguins. Unclear as of now who the third party is involved in the deal.

9:10 a.m.: The Blues have traded for Red Wings forward Jakub Vrana, who missed time this year while in the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program. In return, the Red Wings received forward Dylan McLaughlin and a 2025 7th-round pick.

9:05 a.m.: Wild forward Jordan Greenway continues to be of interest from some teams. With the Wild in a playoff position, Minnesota will only move the winger if the asking price is met. he has two more years on his deal, carrying a $3 million cap hit.

8:45 a.m.: The Canucks and Penguins had been engaged in trade talks around J.T. Miller, however according to TSN’s Darren Dreger, Vancouver could not pull the trigger on the deal. Pittsburgh was only offering draft picks, not players, which was not what Vancouver was looking for.

8:35 a.m.: If it feels like there have been a lot of trades before deadline day, it’s because there have been. There have been 43 trades completed before Friday.

7 a.m.: The Sharks and Penguins reportedly made a deal overnight, sending Nick Bonino back to the Penguins. The veteran forward won two Stanley Cups with the team in 2016 and 2017. The return is not yet known.
