Houston and Miami both have a long history of success. The respectives coaches Houston’s Kelvin Sampson and Miami’s Jim Larrañaga have compiled 1,455 wins, 27 NCAA Tournament appearances and three Final Four trips. They’re accustomed to greatness and the spotlight of regional competition.

The Cougars boast five players who score in double figures, including Marcus Sasser, who is returning from a groin injury he suffered during the AAC Tournament. They defeated Auburn in the second round to advance to this game.

The Hurricanes had a player injured during the ACC Tournament, but Norchad Omier is back in action as well. He has tallied 31 points across the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament. Miami defeated Indiana in the second round to advance.
