Philadelphia, A New Pop Culture Event is Coming Your Way

By | March 31, 2023

After fifteen years of producing pop culture events in Southeastern New England, including events such as Southcoast Toy and Comic Show, Terror Con, and its flagship Rhode Island Comic Con, as well as Colorado Springs Comic Con, Altered Reality Entertainment, LLC is bringing a star-studded event to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center.

With this expansion comes the creation of a new brand of events for Altered Reality Entertainment—Contropolis. The brand will span multiple cities in 2023, debuting in Oaks, Pennsylvania.

At Contropolis, fans of pop culture will enjoy meeting stars of stage, screen, wrestling ring, and comic book page. Watch them on stage as they tell stories of their careers and experiences. Bring home a lifetime of memories with autographs from, and photographs with, your favorites. Shop for comic books and collectibles with some of the best vendors in the country. Cosplay favorite characters and compete for prizes at the event’s costume contest.

Leading the guest list of the inaugural Contropolis Pennsylvania are Cary Elwes from The Princess Bride, Brian O’Halloran, Jeff Anderson, Marilyn Ghigliotti, and Scott Schiaffo from the Clerks movie franchise, Steve Downes and Jen Taylor from the Halo video game series, Katie Griffin and Linda Ballantyne from the popular anime series Sailor Moon, Alaina Huffman and Kim Rhodes from Supernatural, as well as Chris Bartlett and Katy O’Brian from the Star Wars franchise. Joining them will be artist Dave Dorman, whose work can be found in the Star Wars comic book series through Dark Horse Comics.

From the comic book page, fans will meet artists Alex Saviuk, Christopher Priest, Jae Lee, and Sam de la Rosa, among others.

Contropolis Pennsylvania is scheduled for May 5 to 7, 2023. Ticket sales and vendor registration is currently open at www.contropolispa.com.  VIP, weekend, and daily admission are available. Children under 6 are free.

More guest announcements are scheduled leading up to May, and fans can follow along on the event’s website, social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and via the Altered Reality Entertainment mobile app, downloadable from the Apple app store and Google Play.
