The Memorial Cup champion will soon be crowned. 

The Quebec Remparts and the Seattle Thunderbirds are set to meet in the 2023 Memorial Cup final Sunday night to conclude the 2022-23 CHL season. 

The Remparts secured their spot in the championship game by finishing as the top team in the round-robin portion of the tournament and getting a bye to the final. Quebec went 2-1 by beating the Kamloops Blazers and Seattle, while losing to the Peterborough Petes.

Seattle also went 2-1 in the round-robin, earning a spot in the semifinal by defeating Peterborough and Kamloops. The Thunderbirds took out the Petes again in the semis to set up a date with the Remparts in the final. 

Quebec has not won the Memorial Cup since 2006 and are aiming for the club’s third in its history. This is the first time Seattle is playing in the final of the Memorial Cup, with hopes of winning its first CHL championship.

Kamloops is the host city for the 2023 Memorial Cup. All games will be played at the Sandman Centre, the home of the Blazers.

This is the second time Kamloops has hosted the tournament. The first time came in 1995 when the Blazers walked away as Memorial Cup champions.
