The 2023/23 Saudi Pro League will attract major international attention following a wave of transfer signings in the Middle East this summer.
The Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired focus on Al Nassr in the second half of the 2022/23 will be stepped up in the coming months as the league restarts in August.
Following a move by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) to bring four of the league’s biggest clubs under their financial control, the transfers have rolled in across the board.
The increase in star names alongside Ronaldo, including his former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema and World Cup winner N’Golo Kante, will bring more eyes on the league ahead of the big kickoff.

Are Al Nassr playing in the Asian Champions League?
Despite losing out to Al Ittihad in the 2022/23 Saudi Pro League title race, a second place finish secured Al Nassr a place in the AFC Champions League playoffs for the upcoming season.
Al Nassr reached the semifinals of the competition in 2021/22, but failed to qualify for it in 2022/23, with their best run in the tournament coming as runners-up to South Korea’s Seongnam FC in 1995.
A playoff place for the 2023/24 gives them a direct chance to reach the group stage with a one off match against either Shabab Al-Ahli Club or Al-Wehdat on August 22.
