The road to the Paris Olympics is getting shorter.
On July 26, 2024, France will kick off the festivities with what is expected to be the largest opening ceremony in the history of the Summer Olympics. The next day, a highly anticipated basketball tournament featuring some of the best players in the world will begin.
With the Paris Olympics less than a year away, teams are currently fighting to secure bids. Which nations have already qualified? And how many spots are up for grabs?

List of teams that have qualified for Paris 2024 Olympics
Here is the full list of teams that have already qualified for the Paris Olympics:

How many teams will participate in Paris 2024 Olympics?
A total of 12 teams will compete in the Paris Olympics. That means there are currently 10 bids remaining.
How teams can qualify for Paris 2024 Olympics at 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup
Of the 32 nations that participate in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, only seven will earn spots in the bracket at the Paris Olympics. Those bids will be distributed based on how teams finish in certain regions.
Two nations will be selected from both the Americas and Europe regions, and one nation will be selected from each of the Africa, Asia and Oceania regions.

How teams can qualify for Paris 2024 Olympics after 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup
Beyond the FIBA Basketball World Cup, teams can qualify for the Paris Olympics through FIBA Men’s Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. There will be four tournaments with six teams each, and the winner of each tournament will punch its ticket to the Paris Olympics.

- 16 teams, the next best placed teams at the FIBA World Cup 2023 that have not directly qualified for the Games
- One team from Africa from the FIBA Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournaments
- One team from the Americas from the FIBA Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournaments
- One team from Asia from the FIBA Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournaments
