After a couple of less-than-stellar performances against Montenegro and Lithuania in the group stage of the FIBA Basketball World Cup, Team USA took the floor on Tuesday with something to prove.
The Americans dominated Italy from start to finish in a 100-63 win, advancing to the semifinal round of the tournament. Team USA, led by an efficient 24-point effort from Mikal Bridges, shot 53.7 percent from the field and 47.2 percent from beyond the arc in the victory.
Steve Kerr’s squad may want to get back on the court as soon as possible and keep the momentum rolling, but it will have to take a short break before its next contest.
