DraftKings Picks Week 4: Best NFL DFS lineup advice for daily fantasy football tournaments

By | September 28, 2023

Maybe your season-long fantasy football team is going down the drain; maybe you’re a championship contender. No matter the circumstance, DFS offers you a new chance to be a winner every week. It doesn’t matter if the first three weeks were bad because better days are always just right around the corner, and we’re gunning for the big bucks with our Week 4 DraftKings lineup.

Our squad features an underrated quarterback-running back stack, a few underpriced pass-catchers, and a defense that should shut down a division rival. For those entering their lineup into DraftKings’ GPP tournaments, specifically Sunday’s Fantasy Football Millionaire tournament, our primary objectives are to help you stand out from the majority and land in the money.

WEEK 4 FANTASY: Sleepers | Busts | Start ’em, sit ’em

Before we break down all of our picks, here are the most notable scoring rules for DraftKings contests: Full-point PPR, four-point passing TDs, three-point bonuses for 100 rushing yards, 100 receiving yards, and 300 passing yards.

DraftKings Picks Week 4: NFL DFS lineup for GPP tournaments

Sunday main slate, $50,000 budget

QB Matthew Stafford, Rams @ Colts ($5,700). Quarterbacking our squad this week is Stafford, who’s coming off a rough week in Cincinnati. The good news for him is that the Colts’ defense isn’t on the same level as the Bengals, so Stafford is a good candidate to bounce back. Indianapolis has a below average defense that has been generous to opposing receivers thanks to a poor secondary. They allow the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks (22.8) and Stafford will make sure that it stays that way in a pass-heavy offense.

RB Zack Moss, Colts vs. Rams ($6,000). The sleeper trend continues with a running back that wasn’t receiving much love, including from yours truly, this preseason. You have to be able to admit when you’re wrong, and that’s exactly what we’re doing with Moss. All he’s done since returning is stuff the stat sheet, running for 88 and 122 yards, respectively, through his first two games. Factor in Moss’ ability to have an impact in the passing game, and we have a recipe for success. Moss has two touchdowns this season and gets a Rams’ group in Week 4 that has struggled to contain the ground game so far this season.

WEEK 4 PPR RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

RB Miles Sanders, Panthers vs. Vikings ($5,300). Sanders was a busy guy in the passing game last week, finding himself targeted nine times over the course of the afternoon. Life with Andy Dalton was good for him and could help unlock Sanders in this offense when Bryce Young returns. Whoever ends up being the quarterback in Week 4 will find themselves with a solid security option. As long as he continues to have a big role, the running back that scored his first touchdown of the season in Week 3 should have an even bigger day against a nonexistent Vikings’ defense.

WR Ja’Marr Chase, Bengals @ Titans ($7,800). Chase broke out in a big way on Monday night, and he’ll look to keep it going this week in Tennessee. The signature style of cooking in that region is low-and-slow, but Chase won’t have any patience after getting a glimpse of this Titans’ secondary. They’ve been shredded by Justin Herbert, Derek Carr, and now Deshaun Watson. With Joe Burrow (calf) hopefully healthier this week, Chase will have a good time facing off against this generous secondary.

WEEK 4 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

WR Puka Nacua, Rams @ Colts ($6,700). We can’t have Stafford without Nacua when fading the Indianapolis defense. They allow the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing receivers (34.9) and Nacua is the unquestioned No. 1 target in this explosive passing offense. Stafford continues to often look his way as the rookie continues to lead the league in targets with 42. That type of workload and matchup should make for another great week from No. 17, one of the best stories in this young NFL season.

WR Joshua Palmer, Chargers vs. Raiders ($4,000). Mike Williams (knee) is gone for the season, and that means we are likely in for another season of Palmer stepping up. There are questions about whether Quentin Johnston will take over Williams’ role, but Palmer likely gets the first crack given his veteran status. He’s been effective without Williams, hauling in 28 catches for 309 yards and a touchdown in five games without No. 81 in the past. Justin Herbert and the Chargers love to throw the ball and typically have to do it a lot in order to win. Palmer factors into that rotation now and comes in at only a $4,000 salary. Don’t pass up a nice gift, especially in this favorable matchup.

TE Pat Freiermuth, Steelers @ Texans ($3,400). Freiermuth is finally finding his footing in 2023. After facing two great defenses to start the season, ‘Muth brought in three-of-four targets for 41 yards and a touchdown in Week 3. He still has a ways to go if he wants to maintain fantasy relevancy, but we know that Kenny Pickett likes looking his way, especially in the red zone. Freiermuth should be getting back to his old ways, and that should continue against the Texans’ defense that isn’t known for being stout.

FLEX RB Raheem Mostert, Dolphins @ Bills ($6,500). Our second player in the Bills vs. Dolphins showdown comes on the Miami side of the field. Mostert has been a machine the past two weeks, scoring five touchdowns and rushing for over 200 yards. The Bills have a solid defense, but they’re still allowing the most yards per carry and these Dolphins are a completely different monster. Expect Mike McDaniel to figure out how to keep Mostert rolling.

DEF Buccaneers vs. Saints ($3,300). The Buccaneers were already set to face a struggling Saints offense, but now they’ll likely get to do so against Jameis Winston. Tampa’s defense has been back to its old ways in 2023, and in a battle where both teams are already familiar with one another, it makes sense to turn to them to round out our lineup.

Best SuperDraft NFL DFS Picks for Week 4

This season, we’re also listing our favorite Week 4 DFS lineup on SuperDraft, with some of our picks and analysis overlapping.

For those unfamiliar, SuperDraft’s DFS scoring involves point multipliers as opposed to traditional salary-capped or tiered contests. A winning lineup will likely feature a strong mix of stud fantasy contributors with 1x-1.6x boosts, as well as a few matchup-based sleepers with larger multipliers. Each player is assigned a scoring multiplier based on their value as determined by SuperDraft. Users can roster any player in their lineup with no restrictions.

MORE SUPERDRAFT DFS: How to play SuperDraft

  • QB: C.J. Stroud, Texans (Multiplier 1.35x)
  • RB: Christian McCaffrey, 49ers (Multiplier 1x)
  • RB: James Cook, Bills (Multiplier 1.3x)
  • WR: Adam Thielen, Panthers (Multiplier 1.5x)
  • WR: Joshua Palmer, Chargers (Multiplier 1.6x)
  • WR: Puka Nacua, Rams (Multiplier 1.25x)
  • TE: Pat Freiermuth, Steelers (Multiplier 1.55x)
  • FLEX: Davante Adams, Raiders (Multiplier 1.1x)

We really like the Panthers to have a good offensive showing this week against the Vikings, but don’t know which quarterback ends up playing. Because of that, we’ll keep Thielen in the lineup and pivot to an impressive rookie, C.J. Stroud before getting clarity from Carolina. This lineup has a good blend of steady production and sleeper value thanks to players like Stroud, Thielen and Palmer, who figures to have a big role for the Chargers moving forward. There’s a lot to like about this lineup that essentially combines our FanDuel and DraftKings versions into one, elevated by the generous multipliers.
