Ryder Cup 2023 scores, results: Latest standings as Europe eye victory on Day 3 against USA

By | October 1, 2023

Europe held a convincing 10.5-5.5 lead over the United States at the start of Day 3 of the Ryder Cup in Rome, Italy.

Although Europe moved to within four points of victory at the end of Day 2, there was a flashpoint when Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy remonstrated with American Patrick Cantlay’s caddie on the 18th green.

McIlroy was displeased with Joe LaCava’s celebration of Cantlay’s 30-foot birdie putt, and a later confrontation in a car park demonstrated how much victory can mean.

There are 12 singles sessions scheduled today, teeing off every 12 minutes in a potentially thrilling conclusion to the contest.

Will the USA mount a comeback? Will Europe finish the job? The Sporting News is on hand to answer all those questions with live coverage below.
