The Cowboys fancy themselves Super Bowl contenders. Through 11 games, they have made quite the convincing argument.
Dallas has been something of a wrecking ball throughout the campaign, flexing its might against the league’s cellar-dwellers over the course of 2023.
Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and Tony Pollard highlight an offense that can hang with the best of them. The Cowboys’ defense, meanwhile, ranks as one of the league’s best. Micah Parsons is a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate. And although Trevon Diggs is out with injury, Dan Quinn’s unit has found a star in DaRon Bland, one of the NFL’s most dangerous threats in open field.
The ‘Boys return to the spotlight on Thursday night when they face off against the Seahawks. Seattle is a worthy adversary, having climbed into the postseason race fueled by a roster that has been solid, if unspectacular, at different points in the year.
MORE: Cowboys’ DaRon Bland has more TDs than these 10 NFL wide receivers in 2023
The Seahawks have dropped two straight matchups, falling most recently to the super-charged 49ers on Thanksgiving. A third straight defeat could very well leave them on the outside looking in for a playoff spot. The stakes don’t get much bigger than that, especially not at this point of the year.

11:14 p.m.: Pollard explodes through the mist to pick up another 16 yards on the turf. The Cowboys are on the prowl.
11:11 p.m.: TURNOVER ON DOWNS! The Cowboys shut the water off, corralling Charbonnay before he reached the sticks. They’ll get a chance to fight for the lead in a few moments.
10:59 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Aubrey squeezes his effort in as Dallas cuts into Seattle’s lead.
Seahawks 35, Cowboys 30
10:57 p.m.: Dallas is flying. Lamb drew yet another pass interference after strutting beyond Woolen on the streak pattern. Prescott added to the theatrics, escaping a sack with the sway of this hips to find Jaylin Tolbert for a first down. Now, the Cowboys are back in the red zone.
10:54 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! It had to be Metcalf! The hulking wideout rams through a hole left by the diverging Stephon Gilmore and Jayron Kearse. He then fields Smith’s delicate pass to bring Seattle’s lead back to eight points. What a showing by D.K.

End of third quarter: Seahawks 28, Cowboys 27
10:51 p.m.: Seattle has made a killing by gashing Dallas for big plays. Smith hits Noah Fant for 25 yards, then Chardonnay for another 39. Within a few minutes, the Seahawks are on the cusp of another score.
10:43 p.m.: TURNOVER ON DOWNS! The ball slips through Lamb’s hands as he falls towards the sideline, handing the ball back to Seattle. Great stop from the Seahawks after giving up vital field position via interception.
10:40 p.m.: INTERCEPTION! Who else but Bland. The gifted ball hawk tighten the grip on Lockett after getting torn apart in the first half. Then, he leapt, stretching far beyond the veteran wideout to give the Cowboys the ball deep in Seattle territory. This man has a magnet attached to his hands.

10:31 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Dallas is the latest side to capitalize on defensive penalties, capping off its lengthy drive in style with a Pollard score from short range. The Cowboys opt to take the one rather than go for two. But that will fill those of the Dallas persuasion with confidence after giving up a pair of momentous scores.

10:26 p.m.: Strange possession for the Cowboys. Dallas is marching down the field with vigor, owing much of its success to the smooth stylings of Prescott. However, a trio of Seahawks penalties has added to the yardage. Cowboys on Seattle’s 22.
10:15 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Smith scampers into pay dirt with ease, extending that Seattle lead to eight points. What a showing by the Seahawks so far.

10:12 p.m.: The Seahawks are already approaching Dallas’ red zone after a pair of decent gains β and yet another ill-timed penalty, this one for a face mask call.
End of second quarter: Seahawks 21, Cowboys 20
9:51 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Metcalf bypasses Bland again, snagging Smith’s arrow to give the Seahawks the lead. What a drive.

Seahawks 21, Cowboys 20
9:45 p.m.: Smith-Njigba is putting on a show. He just sent Bland to the cleaners with a stunning double move, pulling in a precise Smith throw to seemingly give Seattle a lead. The referees found that the rookie wideout lost control of the ball as he went down. But Bland put his hands all over his matchup, prompting a flag. Seahawks will get the ball on the one-yard line.
9:43 p.m.: Dallas racking up quite a few penalties on the defensive end. Another one β incurred by Dante Fowler β has the Seahawks on the edge of field goal range.
9:41 p.m.: Seahawks moving methodically as they try to balance being efficient with the ball with ensuring Dallas doesn’t have a chance of getting the ball back with too much time left on the clock. Things are working out well so far; Smith connected with Smith-Njigba to move the chains and bring Seattle just outside midfield. Still about 30 seconds left in the frame.
9:33 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Holding call prompts McCarthy to send kicker Brandon Aubrey onto the field. Aubrey sinks from short-range to extend that Dallas ever so slightly extend that Cowboys lead.
Cowboys 20, Seahawks 14
9:32 p.m.: Seattle gobbles Prescott and Co. up, bringing fourth down. Looks like the Cowboys are staying on the field.
9:26 p.m.: Cooks looks to be flourishing in Cowboys white and blue. Just escaped surveillance for a 16-yard gain, taking the Stars inside Seattle’s 10-yard line. Could another tuddy be non the horizon for Dallas?
9:22 p.m.: Prescott gets beyond the pile to pick up the first down on third-and-inches. Dallas just keeps things pushing on the offensive side of the ball.
9:14 p.m. TOUCHDOWN! Seattle takes advantage of a pair of Dallas pass interference calls, cutting into the Seahawks’ lead via Zach Charbonnet’s first career NFL touchdown.

9:13 p.m.: Smith airs it out, delivering a leaflet towards Lockett. Rashaan Evans unable to handle the matchup, grabbing a fistful of Lockett’s jersey to raw a pass interference call.
9:11 p.m.: Quiet as it’s kept, Seattle’s wideouts are having their way with Bland. Jaxon Smith-Njiba just pulled a gorgeous stunt on Bland, curling around the gifted playmaker to find open space in the flat.
9:04 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Prescott. Cooks. Enough said.

Cowboys 17, Seahawks 7
9:02 p.m.: Lamb has a serious case for best wideout in the land. Just mystified his adversary with a piercing cut, frolicking towards the end zone before getting gobbled up just outside the promised land.
8:59 p.m.: Looks like Pollard is beginning to percolate a bit. The Dallas tailback just fielded a toss from Prescott β who himself showed off the tricks to bypass an oncoming rusher. He then strutted some 12 yards upstream before falling into Bobby Wagner’s waiting grasp.
8:58 p.m.: Dallas moves the chains on fourth down after Pollard evades traffic and gets to the outside.
End of first quarter: Cowboys 10, Seahawks 7
8:50 p.m.: Pete Carroll’s not going to like that one. Jason Myers sees his 42-yarder stray wide, just moments after the Seahawks take a delay of game penalty to move the effort back five yards. Looked like Carroll attempted to get the officials’ attention and call a timeout before the play clock expired. It came up short, however.
8:47 p.m.: Metcalf is enjoying his duel with Bland early. The veteran wideout just sidestepped past his opposite number before reeling in an inch-perfect Smith toss for 34 yards. He’s already past the century mark. And we’re not even through with the first quarter yet.

8:45 p.m.: Interesting choice by Mike McCarthy, who opts against accepting an offensive holding call on Metcalf. Didn’t work out too well: the Seahawks convert on third down courtesy of one of those patented Tyler Lockett catches along the sideline.
8:41 p.m. TOUCHDOWN! And they make Seattle pay! Prescott whips an arrow to Lamb, who makes a leaping catch to push Dallas out in front. Good response by the Cowboys there.

8:37 p.m.: A pair of big gains β one of which came from a decent catch and run from tight end Jake Ferguson, the other rooted in a pass interference call on Tariq Woolen β has Dallas in a rhythm. The Cowboys are deep into Seahawks territory here.
8:30 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Third and long for the Seahawks? No problem for Geno Smith, who hits a slanting D.K. Metcalf for a 73-yard strike. Seattle lands the first decisive blow of this contest.

Seahawks 7, Cowboys 3
8:24 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Cowboys have to settle for three after bringing the ball on the cusp of the end zone. Definitely things to be optimistic about if you’re a Dallas fan, namely the fact that Lamb, Brandin Cooks and Kavontae Turpin all got involved in the pass game early. But that’s got to be considered a win for the Seahawks, especially after the Cowboys strutted inside the five with relative ease.
Cowboys 3, Seahawks 0
8:17 p.m.: Prescott’s first throw of the night falls right into the lap of Lamb for a 24-yard gain! That’s one way to open things up!
8:16 p.m.: And we’re off! Dak Prescott and the Cowboys stream onto the field to start tonight’s affair!
8:05 p.m.: We’re about 10 minutes from kick off. And there’s but one question hanging on the lips of Cowboys fans across the world: can DaRon Bland grab another touchdown?
