The 2023 Dead Space remake is widely regarded as one of the top games of the year, and it’s now available for just $7.99 for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members (and £7.99 for those in the UK as well). That’s a colossal discount for, in my opinion, one of the best games ever made. So, just to recap and ensure you’re following; this is the full Dead Space Digital Deluxe Edition, not just an upgrade, but the full game + digital extras as well, for $7.99. That’s 90% off the MSRP and $72 in overall savings. Wow.
You likely already know that Dead Space is available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate via EA Play, but in all honestly, it’s hard to deny how good of a deal this is. This is especially true as it’s a game to add to your digital library without the presumed worry of losing access if you ever need to drop your Game Pass subscription even down a single tier.
This also begs into question: could this possibly be a pricing oversight? Was the intention to offer a discount on the Digital Deluxe upgrade instead? The sheer magnitude of this offer, undeniably enticing and seemingly too good to be true, does naturally prompt some speculation about potential errors. Plus, strangely, the Digital Deluxe upgrade on Xbox is currently priced at $8.99, while the base game carries a tag of $62.99. But, at least for the time being, the $7.99 deal remains accessible for those with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
IGN gave Dead Space a 9/10 in its review earlier this year, with writer Tristan Ogilvie stating: “It’s clear that this superb Dead Space remake has been a labor of love for the team at Motive Studios, who’ve very carefully balanced innovation and renovation with preservation, and to their credit the end result is undoubtedly the definitive way to experience – or re-experience – one of the best survival horror shooters that Capcom never made.”
