What a night from Caitlin Clark. Not only did the Iowa senior break the NCAA women’s basketball scoring record, but she did so with a career-high and program-record 49 points in Thursday’s 106-89 win over Michigan.
Just another day for the superstar.
With 3,569 points and counting, Clark can sit back and relax until the Hawkeyes’ next game. The rest of the basketball world won’t be doing the same, though, as everyone continues to watch replays of the logo 3-pointer that secured the record.

Caitlin Clark shirt: ‘You break it, you own it’
To honor Clark, Nike released a T-shirt to commemorate her historic night. The basketball-led athletic brand even created its own slogan for No. 22, which points to the shattered scoring record now owned by Clark.
“You break it, you own it.”
The shirt is black and gold, just like Iowa’s iconic uniforms, and features the above slogan and a Nike swoosh across the front. The back features Clark’s name, number and a golden Hawkeye logo.
You break it, you own it.
Congratulations to @CaitlinClark22 for claiming what’s hers.

Caitlin Clark Nike NIL deal
Clark’s history with Nike goes way back, long before the NCAA scoring record become a possibility.
The Iowa star signed with the brand in October 2022, ahead of her junior season, as part of Nike’s first NIL basketball ambassador roster. Fellow players included Haley Jones, DJ Wagner, Bronny James and JuJu Watkins.
“I grew up watching Nike athletes across all sports play their game. They have inspired me to work hard and make a difference. I’m humbled to be part of this first Nike basketball class and passionate about inspiring the next,” Clark said.

The endorsement deal allows Nike to sell shirts and jerseys with Clark’s name and number on it, which was made possible with the NCAA’s new NIL rules.
Clark’s annual NIL valuation is $818,000, per On3‘s NIL rankings.
