Big 12 women’s tournament bracket: Full TV schedule, scores, results for 2024 basketball championships

By | March 4, 2024

Iowa State looks to defend its Big 12 title from 2023 at this week’s Big 12 women’s basketball championship, but the Cyclones will have to do so from the No. 4 seed.

Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas State all finished with better conference records than the reigning champion and all three plus Iowa State will begin tournament play in the quarterfinals with the double bye.

Texas has looked like the best team in the field this year and averages a conference-best 82.1 points per game, but the Longhorns lost to the top-seeded Sooners twice before they dropped to the No. 2 seed. Oklahoma averages 77.4 points but just fell to Kansas in the regular-season finale.

Two players in this tournament average at least 20 points per game: UCF’s Kaitlin Peterson (20.3) and TCU’s Madison Connor (20.0).

Kansas State center Ayoka Lee will be another player to watch, as she averages 19.8 points per game, 8.3 rebounds per game and leads the Big 12 with a 62% field goal percentage

The Wildcats are also the best defensive team in the tournament as they allow a conference-low 57.0 points per game. West Virginia and Texas also allow fewer than 58 points per game.
