He’s yet to play a game in his junior season, but Texas QB Quinn Ewers is already earning accolades as potentially the top draft-eligible passer in this year’s draft class.
According to AtoZ Sports NFL Draft analyst Rob Gregson, Ewers is the clear clubhouse leader to be the top quarterback pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. While there is still a full season to be played, Gregson outlined a powerful case for why Ewers should be considered the top NFL prospect under center.
“One league source said the following of Ewers: “No one in the class has as much natural talent at the position.” And that’s the takeaway on film.
Sure he’s rough around the edges and needs some polish, but he has a natural QB instinct and feel that eludes many of the others on the list, or at least to this point in their collegiate careers.”
In addition to Ewers’ arm talent, his growing experience under center should be seen as a major

Bullish 📈
✅Arm Talent: Generates velocity with a flick of the list, beautiful touch to every area of the field
✅Playmaking: Navigates the pocket and pass rushers to release the ball in traffic and on the move
✅Anticipation: Becoming rhythmic on throws pic.twitter.com/lIzJCkrmMR

The other quarterbacks listed behind Ewers in Gregson’s top five NFL Draft prospects are Georgia’s Carson Beck, Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, Texas A&M’s Conner Weigman, and Notre Dame’s Riley Leonard. Gregson’s top two on the list, Ewers and Beck, will face off against one another (provided both are healthy) when Georgia visits Austin on October 19.
