Seattle Seahawks announce 2 roster moves ahead of joint practice with Tennessee Titans

By | August 14, 2024

The Seattle Seahawks have made a habit of announcing roster moves before practically every single training camp practice so far this year. Even though they’re on the road, today was no exception to the rule. This morning the team will be taking the field for the first of two joint practices with the Tennessee Titans as they prepare for this weekend’s preseason matchup. First, they made a pair of moves.

The team just announced that they have re-signed undrafted rookie linebacker Easton Gibbs out of Wyoming. To make room for him on the 90-man offseason roster, they have waived defensive tackle Nathan Pickering with an injury designation.

Gibbs originally signed with Seattle in May and has spent most of the 2024 offseason program with the team. However, he was waived by the team two weeks ago to make room for another interior defensive lineman. Gibbs then earned a spot with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but they waived him on Monday.

Gibbs should be at the bottom of the team’s off-ball linebacker rotation. He will need a very impressive preseason if he’s going to make the initial 53-man roster. It’s more likely he will end up on the Seahawks’ practice squad, though.
