This week’s iteration of “Sunday Night Football” pits two of football’s greatest showmen against one another.
The Bills and Ravens are set to lock horns on Sunday night. Their duel sets the stage for another, higher-profile one: a clash of titans under center: Josh Allen vs. Lamar Jackson.
As far as hurling matchups go, it doesn’t get much better than this. Allen is the MVP frontrunner through three games, having seemingly suppressed his turnover gene while propelling Buffalo’s Joe Brady-led offense to new heights to start the campaign. Less than a week ago, he was setting the Jaguars’ weary defense to shreds in a first-half four TD display. At 3-0, the Bills fancy themselves Super Bowl contenders. Given Allen’s scintillating play, they very well could be.
The Wyoming alum will have quite the dance partner on Sunday night in the form of Jackson, the league’s reigning MVP winner. The 26-year old hasn’t proven quite as prolific as Allen has in the opening paces of the season. But he’s been strong for 1-2 Baltimore, particularly in the short and intermediate game.
With Derrick Henry coming to life as of late and Jackson inching ever-so-close to his award-winning best, John Harbaugh’s squad still has its sights set on a Lombardi Trophy. A victory against Buffalo would go a long way convincing others of that claim’s validity.
