LeBron James’ unprecedented longevity already speaks for itself, but there are many stats and records to support it.
More than just the league’s all-time scoring leader, James continues to add to an impressive double-digit scoring streak that began during his fourth season in the NBA. As the streak nears 18 years, it is well within the realm of sports records that may never be broken.
What is James’ double-digit scoring streak? Here is why the Lakers superstar’s all-time scoring record may not be the most impressive mark set during his career.

LeBron James double-digit scoring streak, explained
James has scored 10 or more points in every regular season appearance made since Jan. 6, 2007. James’ eight-point performance in a Cavaliers win over the Bucks on Jan. 5, 2007, was the last regular season game in which he failed to score in double digits.
Entering the 2024-25 NBA season, James’ streak was at 1,222 straight games of 10-plus points. The next longest streak in league history is 866 games, set by Michael Jordan from March 25, 1986 to Dec. 26, 2001. The difference of 356 games equals four full seasons and 28 games.
James’ streak is nearing the equivalent of 15 NBA seasons. Considering health, a player would need to go longer than 15 seasons without scoring fewer than 10 points in a game.
After James, the next longest active streak belongs to Kevin Durant, who entered the 2024-25 NBA season with 188 consecutive games of 10-plus points.

LeBron James’ single-digit scoring games
Including the regular season and playoffs, James has scored fewer than 10 points just 10 times in his career.
James’ last single-digit scoring game was a seven-point performance in Game 5 of the 2014 Eastern Conference Finals. He also infamously scored just eight points in Game 4 of the 2011 NBA Finals.
For his career, James has more 50-point games (15) in the regular season and playoffs than games with fewer than 10 points (10).
Notably, James scored 10 points in 11 minutes in the finale of the 2017-18 season to preserve the streak while appearing in 82 of 82 regular season games. The streak also survived James’ early ejection against the Pistons in 2021 as he scored 10 points in 21 minutes.
Most recently, James brought his total to 10 points by hitting a 3-pointer with 1:58 remaining in a loss to the Suns on Oct. 28, 2024. He intentionally split a pair of free throws late in the game to bring his total to 11 points (on 3-of-14 shooting) in 36 minutes.
