Jerry Jeudy’s return to Denver was always going to produce fireworks. The Browns wideout enjoyed a fairly checkered time with the Broncos, failing to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark at any point in his four-year tenure with the side. For a player selected in front of CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson, Brandon Aiyuk, Tee Higgins, and Michael Pittman Jr. in the 2020 NFL Draft, such production — or lack thereof — represented a poor return on investment.
And yet, Jeudy’s game is teeming with talent. At his best, he’s a gifted route runner and speed threat capable of rising high above defenders to rip passes out the heavens.
On Monday, Jeudy gave onlookers a glimpse of what Denver is missing out on. The former first-rounder authored up a career day at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium, all at the expense of his former employers. He made sure to let the Broncos’ faithful know just how he felt about it, too.
Here’s what you need to know about Jeudy’s wondrous night at the races against Denver.

Jerry Jeudy taunts Broncos fans
Jeudy served up a fiery showing against his former side, taking advantage of Riley Moss’ absence to wreak havoc on the Broncos’ secondary — namely, backup corner Levi Wallace. Halfway through the third quarter, Jeudy had already surpassed his career high in receiving yards across a single game, fielding a Winston dart on the run and trotting 70 yards to pay dirt.

He proceeded to add bark to his bite, jawing with anyone within earshot, particularly Denver’s concourses, which had unleashed a torrent of boos toward him with each passing reception.

Jeudy vowed to make his return one to remember. He proved his musings weren’t merely ramblings of a scorned lover. Rather, they were a premonition of what was to come.

What did Jerry Jeudy say about the Broncos?
The former No. 15 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft was open about his frustrations with how his Denver career played out.
“My rookie year, I had a few drops. That was the biggest thing,” Jeudy told ESPN’s Daniel Oyefusi. “But the years after that, I feel like I wasn’t getting that many opportunities to showcase my talent with all these different OCs and different schemes and stuff like that. So, I couldn’t really show my abilities and show my route-running skills. It just wasn’t a fit for me.
“I felt like I was a way better player than they used me as. I wanted to go somewhere that would use me, see my full potential and take advantage of it.”
It made for a challenging situation come the end of his time in the Mile High City. Jeudy departed via trade, fetching a 2024 fifth- and sixth-round pick in return. When asked about what he thought about returning to his old stomping grounds, Jeudy expressed excitement.
“My feelings? I just want to go back up there and whip their ass,” Jeudy said, via Tony Grossi of The Land On Demand.
So far, so good.
