Ricochet Warns R-Truth About Stepping Into AEW After WWE Exit

By | June 1, 2025

R-Truth’s WWE run might be done—for now—but the wrestling world is already thinking about what’s next. Just hours after news broke that WWE opted not to renew R-Truth’s contract, one AEW star jumped into the conversation: Ricochet.

A fan tweeted a list of dream matchups for Truth in AEW, naming names like Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, Hangman Page, MJF, and even Ricochet himself. While most people were still digesting the news, Ricochet responded directly—keeping it short, sharp, and straight from the chest. “Look I love Truth. Don’t make me retire unc.”

It didn’t take long for fans to react. The line was clearly meant with respect, but also came off like a challenge. Ricochet, who made the jump to AEW, may have just nominated himself as Truth’s first stop if the veteran ever walks through that door.

Meanwhile, others are already reaching out. TNA’s Head of Talent Relations, Tommy Dreamer, posted a throwback photo of Truth in his original TNA run and tweeted: “He steals every scene he is in @RonKillings WHATS UP WHATS UP HIT ME UP.”

Truth wrestled in TNA from 2002 to 2007, where he became NWA World Heavyweight Champion and one of the company’s defining personalities. Now that he’s a free agent again, it’s open season—whether it’s a homecoming in TNA or a dream showdown with Ricochet in AEW.

Ricochet may have said it playfully, but let’s be real—fans would absolutely tune in to see that match.
