WWE has brought in a lot of big names from outside pro wrestling in the past. SummerSlam on August 2 and 3 will be no exception, with Cardi B on the guest list as host of the two-night event.
During the press conference after Money in the Bank, Triple H was asked by someone about Cardi B’s SummerSlam hosting gig. She also asked if Cardi B will get in the ring.
Triple H replied by asking whether Cardi B can be controlled. There are plans for the rapper, so she’s likely not getting physical in the ring. That still opened up the possibility that you never know what can happen. After all, WWE is working on a lot of things for the future.
“Can you see her, I don’t know if anyone can control Cardi B, let me start with that. If she wants to, I don’t think we can talk her out of it. What to expect? Who the hell knows? Cardi is going to do whatever she’s going to do and you’re just hanging onto the tiger’s tail a little bit there. So, she’s a lot of fun to work with, has been so far with this. She’s excited to do it, as you know she’s a big fan.”
“We’ve talked with her about it and we’ll see where that goes, but we’re thrilled to be working with her. You know, there’s a lot of artists out there across so many different things now that they’re fans and they’re looking to come in. We’re trying to figure out the ones who can be the most positive for our fan base and expand the product beyond the realm of just wrestling, to get the rest of the world into what we’re doing.”
“There are a lot of exciting things coming up over the next year or two, a lot of different sources you’d never expect we’re going to go to. It’s going to be additive to the business. It’s a very cool time when things are clicking and the world is watching and people are waiting to see what we’re doing. It’s an exciting time, and with people like Cadi, you never know.”
WWE is a land where anything can happen. With so many A-list crossovers, you can never really close the book on anything being a possibility. After all, the company has made a name for themselves by surprising fans on a consistent basis.
We will keep a close eye on SummerSlam’s booking. Cardi B will be on hand in New Jersey. Even if she just opens the event with her signature charisma, it will certainly be a memorable event for fans.
