Love them or hate them, the Chiefs have cemented themselves in NFL lore with a dynastic run that spans back to the 2019 season.
At the forefront of the run is the head coach-quarterback duo of Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes, who have won three Super Bowl championships together, including a 50-year drought-ending win in Super Bowl 54 and back-to-back wins in Super Bowls 57 and 58. And while it came up short in Super Bowl 59, fans will get an up-close look at Kansas City’s 2024 season in ESPN’s new six-part docuseries titled “The Kingdom.”
With Mahomes, Reid, and tight end Travis Kelce starring as the headliners, the docuseries gives an inside look at the livelihoods and routines of those who make the Chiefs dynasty tick. It also takes a deeper dive into the history of the Kansas City franchise by exploring how earlier years shaped the team’s current standing.

What is ESPN’s Chiefs ‘The Kingdom’ documentary?
ESPN’s “The Kingdom” is a docuseries that takes an inside look at the Chiefs’ place in NFL lore. The name is derived from “Chiefs Kingdom,” the name of the franchise’s official fan club, which has been heavily associated with this era of football in Kansas City.
The series explores the origins of the Kansas City franchise, juxtaposing that story with the team’s pursuit of a historic Super Bowl three-peat during the 2024 NFL season.
Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt had this to say of the series: “This series is a tribute to everyone who has helped shape the Kansas City Chiefs over the past six decades — from my father’s vision to the players and coaches who pursue greatness each season.”
“The Kingdom” will give an inside look at the lives and routines of stars like Kelce and Mahomes, as well as Reid. It is produced by much of the team behind ESPN’s “The Last Dance” docuseries, which chronicled the Bulls dynasty with Michael Jordan.
