Sony has detailed how owners of PlayStation VR will be able to acquire a free PlayStation Camera adaptor to allow their virtual reality headset to work with PS5.The first step is to visit the Sony support page for owners of a PS VR headset (Models CUH-ZEY1 or CUH-ZEY2) and request the PS4 PlayStation Camera adapter to work on PS5. If you weren’t aware, the PS5’s HD Camera is not compatible with the original PSVR, so this will be the only current option for those looking to bring their PSVR with them to the next-generation.Once received, you can plug the PlayStation Camera adaptor into the USB Type-A port in the back of your PS5 console, and then connect the PlayStation Camera to the AUX port on the adaptor.
If you want to grab one of these adaptors, you’ll need to provide your PSVR processor unit serial number, first name, last name, email address, shipping address, and phone number. Your serial number can be found on the rear panel of the PSVR processor unit.
Only one PlayStation Camera adaptor can be redeemed per household. All regions should be eligible, but check the support page to make totally sure.
The PlayStation Camera Adaptor will be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty for 12 months from the date of delivery.
