Georgia vs. Ole Miss live score, updates, highlights from 2026 College Football Playoff quarterfinals

JUMP TO:

Georgia closed the season as strong as any team in the nation, dismantling Alabama to capture an SEC championship and extend its win streak to nine. Included in that streak was a win over Ole Miss, which now has a chance for revenge in the College Football Playoff on New Year’s Day.

The Rebels didn’t look distracted in their first-round victory over Tulane, seamlessly transitioning from the Lane Kiffin era to Pete Golding, but the Bulldogs represent a much tougher challenge. Georgia has allowed 10 or fewer points in each of its last four games, though Ole Miss proved it could at least hang with Kirby Smart’s team when it scored 35 points in Athens in October.

A Sugar Bowl win would be the most significant victory in program history for Ole Miss and represent a triumph for the players after losing their coach. For Georgia, a win would undoubtedly be worth celebrating, but it wouldn’t be anything Smart isn’t used to. The Bulldogs have their sights set on a third national championship under Smart, and they enter the semifinals among the favorites.

Trinidad Chambliss will attempt to keep his storybook season at Ole Miss alive as Georgia looks for its first playoff win in three years following last year’s Sugar Bowl disappointment against Notre Dame.

All times ET.

Ole Miss 27, Georgia 24

10:53 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — What a drive for the Rebels. They speed down the field behind Chambliss, then Lacy scored to give his team the lead in the Sugar Bowl. With under 12 minutes remaining, Ole Miss is on top; the Rebels also convert on the two-point attempt to make it a three-point lead.

10:50 p.m. — Trinidad Chambliss somehow keeps a 3rd & 7 play alive for ages by scrambling, then picks up the first down with a throw to Kewan Lacy, then one play later, he makes a big throw to Harrison Wallace. The Rebels can take the lead with a touchdown, and Chambliss is on fire.

End of third quarter: Georgia 24, Ole Miss 19

10:48 p.m. — At the end of the third quarter, Georgia is in control, fending off Ole Miss’ comeback attempt so far.

Georgia 24, Ole Miss 19

10:38 p.m. FIELD GOAL — The Bulldogs can’t pull off a long touchdown drive from the fake punt, but they do get much-needed points to make it a five-point game.

10:36 p.m. — What a play call from Kirby Smart. The Bulldogs execute a beautiful fake punt on 4th & 5 for a 16-yard gain, using some misdirection and a pitch to set up the play.

Georgia 21, Ole Miss 19

10:29 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — Ole Miss is right back in it thanks to a gutsy fourth down call. Kewan Lacy finishes the drive for the touchdown, making it a two-point deficit.

10:22 p.m. — A missed field goal keeps Georgia’s lead at nine points. Peyton Woodring couldn’t connect from 55 yards. Georgia has won 53 straight games while leading at halftime, per ESPN.

10:14 p.m. — The Bulldogs respond with a nice stop of their own. Ole Miss goes for it on fourth down but gets stuffed, and Georgia will take over with strong field position.

10:10 p.m. — Ole Miss’ defense gets a nice, quick stop to begin the second half. Georgia punts.

10:08 p.m. — Georgia begins the second half with the ball.

Halftime: Georgia 21, Ole Miss 12

9:45 p.m. — Clock mismanagement for Ole Miss ends the first half. Dae’Quan Wright picked up eight yards, but didn’t try to get out of bounds, and the Rebels can’t get their offense or kicking unit on the field in time to continue the drive.

Georgia takes a nine-point lead into halftime.

9:40 p.m. — Nothing’s there for the Bulldogs, either. Ole Miss gets the ball with under 50 seconds left until halftime.

9:34 p.m. — A tough drop ends the Rebels’ drive, and they punt shortly before halftime. Georgia could make this game get out of hand with a score before the break, as Kirby Smart’s unit gets the ball to start the second half.

9:28 p.m. — Suddenly facing a nine-point deficit, the Rebels get the ball with around two minutes left in the first half.

Georgia 21, Ole Miss 12

9:22 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — What a brutal mistake for the Rebels, as Kewan Lacy fumbles, and Daylen Everette recovers it for a 46-yard scoop-and-score. Georgia gets a huge defensive play that immediately extends its lead.

Georgia 14, Ole Miss 12

9:16 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — The scoring is red-hot now. Stockton hit Cash Jones for a big gain while taking a huge hit, then finishes off the drive with a one-yard rushing touchdown. The Bulldogs reclaim the lead.

9:13 p.m. — Zachariah Branch dashes through the Ole Miss defense to erase the third and long, then Nate Frazier picks up another 24 yards to keep Georgia moving. The Bulldogs can make it three straight touchdowns in this game.

9:11 p.m. — Kam Franklin sacks Gunner Stockton to set up third and long for Georgia.

Ole Miss 12, Georgia 7

9:05 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — The offenses trade touchdowns. Chambliss finds Luke Hasz in the end zone, but the two-point attempt for the Rebels is no good. Ole Miss has a 12-7 lead, and Chambliss has had some terrific throws.

9:03 p.m. — Offenses are heating up. Trinidad Chambliss connects with De’Zhaun Stribling for a 39-yard gain that puts Ole Miss in scoring range again.

Georgia 7, Ole Miss 6

8:57 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — Just like that, Georgia is on top. Nate Frazier parades down the field with his legs, then Stockton finishes the job with a touchdown run.

End of first quarter: Ole Miss 6, Georgia 0

8:50 p.m. — Stockton and Colbie Young connect for a short-range highlight that moves the chains as Georgia looks to get on the board.

Ole Miss 6, Georgia 0

8:47 p.m. FIELD GOAL — Three drives, two field goals for Ole Miss. They’re up 6-0 after a seven-play drive to extend their narrow lead. Carneiro is having a strong start with two 50-plus yard field goals.

8:43 p.m. — Ole Miss is back in Georgia territory as the first quarter clock winds down. Chambliss has a quick 64 passing yards.
