Crow-Armstrong was named to the National League All-Star team for the second consecutive season, continuing what has quickly become one of the most impressive starts to a young career in Major League Baseball. At just 24 years old, the dynamic center fielder has established himself as one of baseball’s premier two-way players, combining elite defense with power, speed and a growing presence in the middle of the Cubs’ lineup.
Pete Crow-Armstrong has taken another step forward
Crow-Armstrong entered the 2026 season looking to build on a breakout 2025 campaign, and he’s done exactly that. Through 88 games, he’s hitting .287 with 19 home runs, 49 RBIs and an outstanding .899 OPS. His production has helped keep the Cubs in the National League playoff race while strengthening his reputation as one of the game’s brightest young stars.
His recent stretch has been particularly impressive. Over his last seven days, Crow-Armstrong has hit .286 with two home runs, four RBIs and six walks, continuing to produce at a high level entering the All-Star break.
The left-handed hitter has also been dominant at Wrigley Field, batting .319 with 12 home runs and a .400 on-base percentage at home this season.

Crow-Armstrong’s first All-Star selection came during a memorable 2025 campaign that established him as one of baseball’s emerging superstars. Last season, he earned All-MLB Second Team honors, captured his first Gold Glove Award and became just the second player in Cubs history to record a 30-30 season, joining Sammy Sosa.
He finished 2025 with 31 home runs, 35 stolen bases and 95 RBIs while cementing himself as one of the sport’s elite defensive center fielders. Rather than regressing after his breakout season, Crow-Armstrong has become an even more complete player in 2026.

Cubs have found a franchise cornerstone
Crow-Armstrong’s journey to Chicago has only made his rise more remarkable. The New York Mets selected him with the 19th overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft before trading him to the Cubs in 2021 as part of the deal that sent Javier Báez to New York.
After battling through a significant shoulder injury early in his professional career, Crow-Armstrong developed into one of baseball’s top prospects before making his MLB debut in September 2023.
Now, less than three years later, he’s already a two-time All-Star, a Gold Glove winner and one of the faces of the Cubs franchise. His highlight reel continues to grow as well. Earlier this season, Crow-Armstrong became the first player in the majors to hit for the cycle in 2026, adding another memorable achievement to his rapidly expanding résumé.
