Jim Ross Says Impact Wrestling Benefitted More Than AEW From Current Partnership

The landscape of pro wrestling underwent a change after AEW and Impact Wrestling started their working relationship. NJPW would soon join AEW as well and the relationship between the companies is certainly great.

The partnership between AEW and Impact Wrestling has truly opened the door for a variety of dream matches. However, fans are divided as to just how much each company has benefitted from the partnership.

While some think AEW has benefitted more from the partnership, as evident in Kenny Omega winning the Impact World Title, others believe Impact Wrestling is the one who got the most from the partnership. It seems a WWE Hall Of Famer shares the latter sentiments.

While speaking to Steven Muehlhausen of DAZN, Jim Ross talked about the current partnership between AEW and Impact Wrestling. Ross stated that Impact Wrestling has actually benefitted far more from the partnership than AEW.

“I think as it relates to Impact, that’s done through the cooperative efforts of nature of Tony Khan. Don Callis is a part of the management team at Impact and the on-camera manager of Kenny Omega. I think I’m going to sound bad saying this, I’m sure. I think this relationship has helped Impact more than it’s helped AEW. But I don’t know that we’re measuring. I don’t know that we’re judging, quite frankly. If it helps the wrestling business, and it makes it more fan-friendly, then we all win. Tony Khan’s philosophy is to do business with everybody that we want that can help our brand. I think that’s kind of the concept, and I don’t think it’s going to end with Impact,.”

We certainly wonder what else both companies have planned for their ongoing partnership, as many believe it won’t be lasting much longer. However, the prospect of more crossover matches is certainly enticing.
