Ric Flair Wants One Last In-Ring Run

By | August 9, 2021

Ric Flair and WWE recently parted ways. There was no way that Vince McMahon was going to approve the 76-year-old two-time WWE Hall of Famer to compete in the ring, but Flair might find another home for his final in-ring run.

‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair is often regarded as the best to ever lace up a pair of wrestling boots, and within very good reason. He has had every decorated career in the business spanning more than three decades.

Flair has held many championships throughout that time and battled some of the biggest names in the history of the entire industry. At WrestleMania 24, he finally retired from in-ring competition after losing to Shawn Michaels (although he had another match in TNA, but we don’t count that).

Speaking on his The Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T stated that the 2-time WWE Hall of Famer wants to have one more run in wrestling.

“My thing is this, and I’m going to let you take this into the break, Ric Flair is not the managerial type of guy. It’s just not his role. As well as, Ric Flair is not one of your guys that wants to be in the office, coming to work every day, wearing a suit and going into the office. That’s not Ric Flair. Ric Flair’s a party guy. That’s just his nature. You saw him on Triller, he’s all about having some fun. Now my thing is this, I talk to Ric Flair on a regular — usually on a regular occasion, I don’t know how often I’m going to see him now, but Ric Flair told me, he said, ‘Book, I’m never going to retire.’ He said, ‘If I could be in that ring right now, that’s where I’d be.’ So I think Ric Flair may be looking at one last run.”

Ric Flair was recently let go by WWE after he requested his release from the company. While many wrestlers over the years have come out of retirement for a match or two, Vince McMahon would never have let the Nature Boy compete in WWE again.
