American Night: Saban Films Acquires Neo-Noir Thriller Starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers & Emile Hirsch

Saban Films announced today that they have acquired North American rights to the neo-noir action thriller American Night, written and directed by Alessio Della Valle.

The movie stars Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild, Once Upon a time… In Hollywood), Emmy nominee Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The 12th Man, Edge of the WorldVikings), and Paz Vega (Spanglish, Sex and Lucia). The film, which will make its World Premiere at the 2021 Venice Film Festival on September 9, 2021, will be released in theaters this Fall.

“A neo-noir set in New York City’s corrupt contemporary art world, American Night follows art dealer John Kaplan (Rhys Meyers) and the ruthless head of New York’s mafia, Michael Rubino (Hirsch), as they fight for money, art, power, and love,” reads the official synopsis.

“We look forward to working with Director Alessio Della Valle on his feature directorial debut American Night,” said Saban Films’ Bill Bromiley. “His experiences travelling the world have equipped him with a unique perspective and make him such a gifted filmmaker.”

The film is a Martha Production, Pegasus Entertainment, QMI with RAI Cinema production. American Night is produced by Martha Capello and Ilaria Dello Iacono, with executive producer Giorgio Ferrero, and associate producers Giovanni Cova, Sergio Romerio, Wenwen He, Jieran Geng, Tiziana Rocca, and Marc Westerholt, in association with Viris and Aliante Partners.
