Cunning Killers and a Dark Queen in Your First Look at BRIAR #4

By | March 30, 2023

BOOM! Studios revealed today a first look at BRIAR #4, the fourth and final issue of the first arc (recently promoted to ongoing status at ComicsPro) from Eisner Award-nominated writer, producer, and director Christopher Cantwell (Regarding the Matter of Oswald’s Body, Iron Man, Halt and Catch Fire), rising star artist Germán García (Ka-Zar: Lord of the Savage Land), colorist Matheus Lopes (Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow), and letterer AndWorld Design (The Many Deaths of Laila Starr) that reimagines the classic fairy tale as an epic dark fantasy adventure, available April 2023.

Grendrid, the only surviving remnant of the sleeping beauty’s past, seeks Briar’s blood! Even the seemingly impenetrable city of Windcross and the memory of its beloved king Rodion can’t protect our hero and her companions Spider and Roop. The relentless Deadcrawl and his assassins hunt at Grendrid’s behest, and it will take everything Briar and her allies have to survive. Will they all make it out alive, perhaps with even a scrap of happy ending? And will Spider finally reveal her connection to Briar’s past?

BRIAR #4 features main and variant cover art by series artist García, and variant cover art by superstar artists Yanick Paquette (The Sandman Universe: Nightmare Country) with colors by Matheus Lopes, Dan Mora (Detective Comics), and Toni Infante (Grim).
