Last year, High School Musical fans’ hearts skipped a beat when Efron posted a picture of himself visiting Salt Lake High School East, which served as a set for the High School Musical films. The actor shared the photo just a few days before HSMTMTS Season 3 headed to Disney Plus, fueling the speculation he might be reprising his role as Troy Bolton. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen in 2022.
And even though several original High School Musical graduates reprised their characters in the last season of HSMTMTS, that wasn’t the case for Efron. The actor stated he would love to return as Troy sooner or later, but apparently, the right occasion hasn’t arisen yet.
Is Vanessa Hudgens back in HSMTMTS season 4?
Vanessa Hudgens hasn’t returned in HSMTMTS season 4.
Pretty much like in Troy’s case, fans won’t see Hudgens’ Gabriella Montez in HSMTMTS season 4. The actress also shared a video of herself in front of the High School Musical set, but that didn’t lead to anything either.
Both Hudgens and Efron started their journey as Gabriell and Troy, respectively, in 2006’s High School Musical. The movie was an instant hit that spurred two sequels, High School Musical 2 (2007) and High School Musical 3: Senior Year (2008). The story follows a group of high school students navigating the challenges of love, friendship, and self-discovery through music and dance.
