Mother/Android, the upcoming sci-fi thriller from Hulu, has set a premiere date on the streaming platform, with some new images from the upcoming film also released in celebration.

Hulu announced (via Deadline) on Wednesday that Mother/Android would release on December 17, 2021, on the platform, giving those excited to watch not too long to have to wait for the thriller. The film stars Chloë Grace Moretz (Suspiria, The Addams Family 2) and Algee Smith (Judas and the Black Messiah), alongside Raúl Castillo (Army of the Dead).

“Set in the near future, Mother/Android follows Georgia (Chloë Grace Moretz) and her boyfriend Sam (Algee Smith) through their treacherous journey of escape as their country is caught in an unexpected war with artificial intelligence,” reads a synopsis for the film. “Days away from the arrival of their first child, they must face No Man’s Land — a stronghold of the android uprising, in hopes of reaching safety before giving birth.”

Mother/Android is written and directed by Mattson Tomlin, who loosely based the story on his birth parents’ experience. This marks the second collaboration between Tomlin and producer Matt Reeves after co-writing the script for The Batman. It will also be produced by 6th & Idaho’s Adam Kassan and Rafi Crohn along with Charles Miller and Miramax’s Bill Block.
