Fans are starting to wonder whether there will be an Indiana Jones 5 Shia LeBeouf appearance. For those wondering “Is Mutt Williams in Dial of Destiny?”, here’s the need-to-know info.
Is Shia LeBeouf in Indiana Jones 5?
Shia LeBeouf is not in Indiana Jones 5.
Screenwriter David Koepp revealed back in 2017 that LeBeouf would not appear in Indiana Jones 5. However, the movie’s director, James Mangold, confirmed last year that fans “will find out what happened” to LaBeouf’s character, Mutt Williams.
While fans shouldn’t expect Shia LeBeouf to appear in the film, there is going to be a reference to the character in some form. Expect a photograph or a passing comment that acknowledges Indiana Jones’ son without the need to actually bring the controversial character back.
Will Mutt Williams ever return to the Indiana Jones movies?
Mutt Williams may return to the Indiana Jones movies in the future.
Though nothing is confirmed, having Indiana Jones’ son take on the mantle would make a lot of sense. Whether or not Shia LeBeouf would reprise his role, however, is another discussion entirely.
If Dial of Destiny performs well, I can imagine Disney looking for ways to continue making money from the IP. With this being Indiana Jones’ final adventure, Disney would have to focus on a different character. Mutt Williams would be a solid choice in terms of the story, but the poor performance of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull may mean that character never returns.
For now, Mutt Williams is seen only in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and referenced in Dial of Destiny. Disney has not made any announcements regarding his future appearances.
