Created by Issa Rae, who also stars as one of the protagonists, and Larry Wilmore, Insecure is an HBO comedy-drama series partially developed from Rae’s web series Awkward Black Girl. The plot revolves around two contemporary black women, Issa and Molly, living in South Los Angeles, California. The series premiered on October 9, 2016, and has received critical acclaim for all five seasons. The fifth season originally aired between October 24, 2021, and December 26, 2021. Is there an Insecure season 6 release date?

There is no Insecure season 6 release date as the series concluded after five seasons.

Insecure was renewed for season 5 in May 2020. HBO announced in January 2021 that the fifth season of the series would also be its last. Issa Rae subsequently told Deadline, “Prentice [Penny] and I are so grateful that HBO believed in our show from the beginning and kept faith in us to see our vision through the end.”

Rae added that the plan was always for a five-season run. “We always planned to tell this story through five seasons, but we couldn’t have made it this far without the tremendous support of our audience,” she said. “I feel blessed beyond measure to bring our characters’ stories to an end, on-screen at least.”

The cast includes Issa Rae as Issa Dee, Yvonne Orji as Molly Carter, Jay Ellis as Lawrence Walker, Lisa Joyce as Frieda, Natasha Rothwell as Kelli Prenny, Amanda Seales as Tiffany DuBois, Kendrick Sampson as Nathan Campbell, Leonard Robinson as Taurean Jackson, Courtney Taylor as Sequoia “Quoia,” and more.

Where is Insecure season 6 coming out?
