It’s About to Get Dark in Don’t Breathe 2 Red Band Trailer

Sony Pictures has released the official Don’t Breathe 2 red band trailer for the highly-anticipated sequel to 2016’s horror thriller film, featuring the return of Avatar star Stephen Lang as the Blind Man. The video, which you can check out below, features some new footage of the Blind Man’s brutal and deadly assaults on his newest batch of home invaders.

The film is currently scheduled to make its debut on Friday, August 13. Its theatrical release date sees Don’t Breathe 2 going up against high-profile films such as 20th Century Studios’ long-delayed comedy Free Guy, and Jennifer Hudson’s Aretha Franklin biopic Respect.

Don’t Breath 2 is set in the years following the initial deadly home invasion, where it will continue to center around Norman Nordstrom a.k.a the Blind Man, who is now living in quiet solace until his past sins catch up to him.

The film is directed by Rodo Sayagues from a screenplay he co-wrote with Fede Alvare. The sequel will star Stephen Lang, Brendan Sexton III, and Madelyn Grace.

Don’t Breath 2 is produced by Alvarez, Sam Raimi, and Rob Tapert. Executive producers are Lang, Nathan Kahane, Joe Drake, Erin Westerman, Andrew Pfeffer, and Rick Jacobson.

The first film was directed by Alvarez, where it went on to not only received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, but also becoming a surprise box office success with a worldwide gross of over $157 million against a reported $9.9 million budget. It starred Jane Levy and Dylan Minnette.
