Jake Gyllenhaal in Talks to Star in Guy Ritchie’s Next Film

Jake Gyllenhaal may have found his next role, as Deadline is reporting that he is in negotiations to star in the next Guy Ritchie film.

According to the report, the film will be produced by Miramax, with Ritchie set to write and direct the feature. Not much else is known about the upcoming project as details are being kept secret at the moment. The report mentions that this is set to act as Gyllenhaal’s next movie, and that production will begin at the end of the year.

For Ritchie, this will be his next film following his upcoming Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre, which is scheduled to be released next year. Ritchie was also behind Wrath of Man, which was released earlier in 2021, and was also director of Disney’s live-action adaptation of Aladdin, for which he was nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Director.

As for Gyllenhaal, the actor is keeping busy, with two films already planned for 2022 following his most recent work, 2021’s The Guilty. Besides his work in Hollywood, Gyllenhaal also has been working in the world of Broadway, where he just recently earned nominations for Lead Actor for his role on Sea Wall/A Life, as well as earning two producing nominations for his work on Sea Wall/A Life and Slave Play.
