Jujutsu Kaisen: Why Was Gojo Deemed an Accomplice?

By | January 2, 2024

Towards the end of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, the Jujutsu higher-ups sent out a bunch of notifications in light of the recent Shibuya tragedy that had unfolded and put Tokyo in grave danger. So much so that the truth behind Jujutsu society was discussed and put out in the open; one of these notifications entailed that Gojo had been deemed an ally in the Shibuya Incident. This led the higher-ups to command Satoru Gojo’s exile from the Jujutsu society. Not only that, they also declare that unsealing him will be considered a criminal act. The question remains: Why was Gojo deemed an accomplice after all?

According to popular belief, this is a conspiracy that the Jujutsu authorities are weaving. As such, they consider this a golden opportunity to twist the tragic story and get rid of Gojo skillfully. While Gojo and Geto were once inseparable allies, they had a fallout. This was due to Geto’s decision to separate from Jujutsu High and become a “villainous” cursed user.

Is Satoru Gojo Expelled From Jujutsu Society?

When Gojo was sent to kill him and had numerous opportunities to do so, he dodged the situation in some way or another. He allegedly left Geto to roam around freely, which ultimately led to the tragic incident in Shibuya. Even though it was actually Kenjaku using Geto’s body, the sorcerers witnessed that Geto was the mastermind behind the Shibuya Incident. Hence, Gojo raised suspicions about being Geto’s accomplice. The Jujutsu authorities took this opportunity to expel Gojo from Jujutsu society.

Gojo was a menace in the Jujutsu world due to his carefree and mischievous disposition. He blatantly joked about killing the higher-ups, which gave them all the more reason to exploit the ongoing narrative. Moreover, Gojo’s use of his cursed techniques despite the presence of countless civilians at the Shibuya station adds to the suspicion that Gojo was indeed an accomplice.
