Fans of the hit fantasy action K-drama Moving were in for a celebration after the series’ success at the 2023 Asia Contents Awards and Global OTT Awards, which took place on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the BIFF Theater, Busan, South Korea. The K-drama took home several accolades, including Best Creative, Best Visual Affects, Best Newcomer Actor/Actress, and more.
As it is, fans took to Twitter to celebrate Moving’s most important win. Ryu Seung-ryong won the Best Lead Actor award for his role in Moving. The 52-year-old actor seemed overwhelmed while accepting his award as he thanked the entire team and viewers. Fans were ecstatic and took to social media to celebrate his win. One tweeted:

In this Disney Plus series, Ryu Seung-ryong essays the role of Jang Ju-won. The character is retired from the government’s intelligence service and holds superpowers as he navigates the challenges in his everyday life.
Following his big win at the 2023 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards, the senior actor was overcome with emotion as his team and fellow artists cheered for him. While accepting the award, Seung-ryong said,
“I feel like my heart will explode. Regardless of whether you received an award or not, everyone who made each other shine is beautiful and wonderful.”
Recalling the most difficult moments of filming the K-drama, he shared that it was a tough job to film in Busan while wearing bloody makeup. He further expressed that his superpower was the ability to empathize with the characters and acknowledge their usefulness. Thanking viewers for tuning in, he ended his speech by saying,
“I hope that the miracle of superpowers will happen in your daily life, every day.”
Following his speech, fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate his win. Some users even wrote how the actor is deserving of his win.
Fans also felt that his win didn’t come as a surprise given his portrayal of the character.
Some fans also predicted that Ryu Seung-ryong was in the race to win the Grand Prize at the 2024 Baeksang Arts Awards. User @kdramasfangirl tweeted,
“a very well deserved Best Lead Actor award for #RyuSeungRyong and I’m rooting for his daesang next year on Baeksang.”
Meanwhile, another user named @yoonjeongnyeon nominated him alongside Revenant’s Kim Tae-ri, saying,

Apart from Ryu Seung-ryong winning Best Lead Actor, Moving also earned many big awards at the 2023 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards. The Disney+ K-drama won Best Creative Award, Best Visual Effects award, and Best Writer Award, which was presented to Kang Full, author of the original webtoon. Actors Lee Jung-ha and Go Youn-jung earned the Best Newcomer Actor and Actress, respectively.
