The Last Of Us Part II PS5

The Last of Us Part Inow looks and runs better when played on a PlayStation 5. Developer Naughty Dog released a new patch for their critically acclaimed third-person stealth game that takes a look at how life in a post-apocalyptic world continues as Ellie (Ashley Johnson) finds herself up against an equally capable foe in Abby (Laura Bailey). The new patch has increased resolution, faster load times, and an enhanced framerate.

While this is meant for PlayStation 5 owners, this is not a separate PlayStation 5 version of the game. Instead, it’s the PS4 version that now takes advantage of the PS5’s power to run and perform better. There has been no announcement for a separate SKU or a native PS5 version of The Last of Us Part II just yet. This is similar to God of War‘s recent update.

“Once patch 1.08 for The Last of Us Part II is installed on your PS5, you will find a toggle in the Display options that allows you to choose between a Framerate Target of 30 FPS or 60 FPS,” explains Naughty Dog. “This allows you to choose your preferred framerate to complement the rest of the enhancements that are part of the PS5 backward compatibility with PS4 games, such as an enhanced resolution, faster load times, and more.

“The team has been digging into the PS5 hardware and the possibilities it unlocks since launch last year and we’re excited about what the future holds. This patch is just the first step of working on the PS5. We’ll let you know when we’ve got more news to share!”

The Last of Us Part II is available now for PlayStation 4.
