The trailer of The Matchmakers episode 16 (finale) hints at a sad ending for Rowoon‘s Sim Jung-Woo and Cho Yi-Hyun‘s and Jung Soon-Deok. The two young and widowed matchmakers fall in love during the Joseon era, but their relationship ends up attracting trouble.
In episode 15 ending, Soon-Deok and Jung-Woo turn into bride and groom to save the joint wedding plan. The mayor gets suspicious of Jung-Woo being one of the grooms and tries to barge into all the wedding couples’ rooms. The episodes ended on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers anticipating the finale.

The Matchmakers finale trailer hints at Rowoon drinking poison
The Matchmakers finale (episode 16) trailer begins with lonely Soon-Deok hugging a man in front of many people. In the background, So-Hyun angrily asks her, “Is your method is having an affair with another man and ruining our family’s future?”
The next scene shows the King is surprised when someone tells him that Jung-Woo molested Soon-Deok. It further features Rowoon’s character locked up in prison. Jung Soon-Goo tells his wife and her sisters, “Tonight, His Excellency Gyeongwoonjae [Jung-Woo] will be ordered to die by poison.”
The trailer then shows Jung-Woo drinking the poison while So-Hyun tells Soon-Deok, “Gyeongwoonjae is no longer alive. I’m telling you so it will be easier for you to decide.” The video ends with Soon-Deok holding a knife in front of her chest, teasing a sad ending for the lead characters.
